I graduated from Washington State University but did not immediately go into teaching. I worked at the University of Washington Medical Center in the Division of Cardiology until my family and I moved to Carrollton, Texas. There I began my teaching career and taught in Irving, Texas for seven years. Upon our return to Washington in 2007, I began teaching Kindergarten and have continued in this capacity ever since.
I am enrolled in the Masters program in Curriculum and Instruction at Seattle Pacific University and have become immersed in the rewards and challanges this rigorous program offers. I enjoy discovering the current research in the field of education and applying this information to my own classroom.
I have 3 children, two of which are out on their own. and one who attends college. I love to hike, read, and wander the roads less traveled in Washington State.
